Overview

Select is a simple tool for learning and practicing SQL using the MS Access version of the Northwinds database.

It was developed using:

  • C# 12 (PolySharp)
  • WinForms
  • .NET Framework 4.8.1
  • Scintella
  • DockPanel Suite
  • OldDB Jet Provider

The code is available here on GitHub.

Scintella is used for SQL input, with a customized styler and intellisense:

Press F5 to run a command, or F4 to clear the SQL console.

There are two schema diagrams, the first shows tables, the second includes views.

To select from multi-word tables or views use braces:

SELECT * FROM [Order Details Extended];
